Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data SnapPro collects, why, and your choices. It is written for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, email address, password (stored encrypted by our login provider) | To create and secure your account |
| Mobile number | Payment receipts and so your photographer can reach you on the day |
| City, state and pincode | To show you photographers, or requests, in your area |
| Shoot details and the exact address of a shoot | To arrange the booking. The address is shared only with the photographer you book |
| Messages in the in-app chat | So you and your photographer can coordinate |
| Photographers: bio, portfolio photos, rates, payout UPI ID and account name | To show your public profile and pay you. The payout UPI ID is never shown publicly |
| Payment records: amount, status, Razorpay order and payment IDs, payment method type, bank reference number | To confirm bookings, handle refunds and keep accounting records |
| Photographers only: a photo of a government ID (Aadhaar — masked if possible — PAN, driving licence or passport), the last 4 characters of its number, and a face photo | To check that every photographer is who they say they are. Stored privately; only SnapPro's verification team can see them. Deleted on request when you close your account, unless we must keep them by law |
| Chat messages and call records (when a call happened and how long it lasted — calls are not recorded) | So customers and photographers can arrange shoots. SnapPro staff may read a booking's chat only to resolve a dispute or investigate fraud or a safety report; every time they do, it is logged |
| Reports and blocks: who you reported or blocked, the reason you gave, and a copy of what you reported (for a chat, your recent messages with that person) | To keep SnapPro safe. Only SnapPro staff see reports; the person you report isn't told who reported them |
| A random visitor ID stored in your browser, and how you found us: the website, app or ad that sent you, campaign tags in the link, the invite code you used, the pages you viewed, and your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) | To count visitors and learn which pages, ads and invites work. Before you sign up this isn't linked to you; when you sign up, it's linked to your account so we know how you found SnapPro. We don't store your IP address |
| A record of what happens on your account (for example: sign-up, shoots posted, quotes, bookings, payments, reviews, and when you last opened the app) | To run the service, help with problems and disputes, prevent fraud and improve SnapPro. Only SnapPro staff can see it |
We never store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password. These are entered on Razorpay's secure checkout.
Who we share data with
- The other side of your booking — your first name, shoot details and (after you book) the address go to the photographer; the photographer's name, profile and quotes are shown to customers.
- Razorpay — to process payments and refunds.
- Supabase — our database and login provider, which stores the data above.
- Brevo — to send account emails such as sign-in codes.
- India Post's pincode service — the pincode you type is checked to fill in your state.
- Authorities — when required by law.
We don't sell your personal data and we don't show ads.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Payment and booking records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires (generally 8 years). You can delete your account yourself in the app (Profile → Delete my account): your name, email, phone, address details, photographer profile, portfolio, UPI ID and ID-check photos are erased straight away, and portfolio files are removed from our storage within 30 days. Booking and payment records are kept without your name or contact details where the law requires it. If you ask us by email instead, we do the same within 30 days. See Delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you, by writing to snappro.support@gmail.com. You can correct your name and location in the app at any time.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. Access to each person's data is restricted in the database itself, so customers and photographers can only see what they need for their own bookings, and only approved SnapPro staff can see account lists.
Children
SnapPro is for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect data from children.
